As the race for Clerk of Court got more crowded this afternoon, JC Smith asked that his name be removed from consideration for Clerk of Court and immediately qualified to run for Tax Commissioner against incumbent Keith Echols.  Keith has fought off at least 2 others seeking his post in recent memory.

Late this afternoon Charles Baker (Chief Deputy Clerk of Court) qualified to run for his boss’ position.  So it would not be a suprise, he also faxed a press release to The Times at the same time he qualified.  Charles also applied to join the Hall County Republican Party this afternoon.
