Some people want term limits for elected officials; some don’t.  Those that do all realize that it will take a Constitutional Amendment to make the change.  I don’t like the idea of amending the Constitution because there is too much room for political maneuvering.  So I had an idea!

What if we just put on the ballot for each election, the number of years the incumbent has served in office?  That way, each voter can decide whether that length is too long.  If the supporters of term limits are right, then the voters will remove those who have been long-tenured in office without the need to amend the constitution.  Power to the people and not the politicians.
